Ozempic Coverage in Ontario is Changing

Ozempic Coverage in Ontario is Changing

Make sure behavioural support is part of your weight management strategy!

🚨 Important Update for Ontario Residents! 🚨

Starting February 1, 2024, there's a crucial change impacting those prescribed Ozempic in Ontario. The Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) now requires a limited use code or ‘LU’ specifically for diabetes to cover Ozempic.

What does this mean for you?

🩸If you have Type 2 Diabetes, your prescriber will need to confirm your eligibility with your next prescription.

🩸The limited use code eliminates ODB coverage for everyone that has not been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. If you're using Ozempic for weight management without diabetes, the Ontario Government won't cover it anymore, leaving you with out-of-pocket expenses. If you have Type 2 Diabetes, you may still be covered (there are additional qualifications).

While this adjustment aims to address supply chain issues, it places many in a challenging position.

But fear not! 💪🏽✨There are solutions.
